A little bit about me
One of my hardest moments was to find a photographer for my own wedding - although I did contemplate about how I could somehow do it myself. I finally found someone who's style I liked. We did plan some shots but most of the photos we framed on our wall are the result of trusting him to be him and letting him do his thing.
At festivals, I have left the event grounds to use surrounding vantage points to take different photos than everyone else was taking. One of my favorite fireworks-shots was taken from the top of a ferris wheel, just because I felt like I wanted to try something new.
Some of the most beautiful moments come from watching how people can lose themselves in music. That's art in it's purest form, when it can touch someone like that. You can't plan those moments, they just happen and seeing it happen is something magical. It makes me feel blessed to be there, to see that and to be able to capture those moments.
In 2022 we traveled to Hawaii, where I had this idea of photographing active lava in combination with the milky way. I went out at 11pm and the last thing my wife said to me was "don't do anything stupid". At 2am when the moon had finally set, I turned my head torch off for a brief moment when I was looking for a different vantage point. I did this to admire the milky way in it's full glory. A few steps later I landed in a sinkhole where a previous eruption had torn the road apart. It took two months for the wounds on my elbow and knee to heal but I got the shot I wanted and I'd do it again in a heart beat. - my wife was slightly less impressed as she had to patch me up in the middle of the night.
